Today’s adventure happened in Strasbourg, France. We got there in the middle of the day to beautiful weather.
We first went to the cathedral. I like a good cathedral with cool architecture, fancy stain glass, and a simple appeal. This one did not disappoint either. After we finished inside we decided to climb up to the top, which meant stairs. You would think that I would get tired of climbing so many stairs but the views trump everything. We got to the top to a great view of all of Strasbourg. From there we planned where we wanted to go next.
When we got down we walked in the direction that we wanted to go and then became super sporadic and wandered around the area. I’m a firm believer in being willing to get “lost” in a new area if you have the time. If you see something interesting, just go for it. I saw so many things that I wasn’t sure what it was exactly but it looked pretty nice. We saw a university, the Palace of Justice, a national library, a botanical garden, and a pretty big park.
Overall, Strasbourg was wonderful for a nice day trip. It had a good balance of French and German influence (because it’s on the border of France). Stuff was spread out yet not too far apart. I would definitely do this again. We took a bus for $20 total, 4 hours roundtrip, and awesome memories. We also walked about 15 miles today. Tomorrow we head to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany. This should be a fun one! Til then 🙂
