Shout-out to “The Game Changers!”

This is a special shout-out to the students at McKenzie Middle School who are known as “The Game Changers.” These students have declared that they are going to dress up on Wednesday for school. I think that’s awesome and I hope that you all continue to do it even once school is out.

Growing up I never understood how beneficial dressing up could be in my life. There was something special about putting on a nice shirt to class. A simple polo or a button up shirt did a lot for my confidence. My friends and I used to dress up and go out to dinner together. We would all feel special and important each time we dressed up.

Not only can dressing up improve the way you think about yourself but there is a scientific advantage for you too. Studies show that when people dress up for school they focus more on what is being taught and they are able to retain the information better. People also view you differently when you dress up. It can be a positive view if you are behaving appropriately as well!

So, keep on changing the game! Continue to dress up for school on Wednesdays. I want to challenge you to even do it over the summer break (along with reading books, doing math problems, and other academic practices. You have to stay sharp so it’s not that hard when you start school again). I’m doing it with you! Final thought, remember who are, where you come from, and what you want your life to be like in the future. Peace!

    Hello Tony,
Wow! I love you and your Shout- out to “The Game Changers!” and you “practice what you preach”. I agree, it feels good to dress up, and it is a positive statement as one always remembers the same latter you go up comes down. We are different generations with like values. I share your blogs proudly.
